Technically, I Left the Campground… But There’s More to the Story
The campground closes tomorrow… but I left yesterday.
Normally I leave with a sense of excitement, ready to get back on the road - but this year it’s different. And it doesn't feel like a whole six months have passed since I got here.
Has my routine become mundane to me?
Is it one of those age-related things that I’ve been blaming things on lately? It’s kinda becoming my “go-to” excuse. 🙃
Or just maybe… it’s because this summer was like no other in the history of my nomadic life!
This summer was busier and more chaotic than usual…
My time with Auntie M is always busy. And the tornado incident shortly after I got here added a whole new level of chaos to an already busy summer schedule.
Dodging the storms and dealing with prolonged, extreme heat and humidity didn’t help matters either. I was thankful for the air-conditioned hotel.
My plan was to leave in early October. I still had things to finish up, so I stretched my stay to mid-October.
Then, Bella (my van) had other plans and my head south date got pushed out even further.
So here I am…
At a hotel until November 1… so I can finally get the rest of my 💩 done!
No one except Nikki and my brother (Corey) knows I’m still here - so mum’s the word 🤫
I told everyone else I was “leaving the campground” yesterday. They most likely assume I’m on the road, heading south.
I didn’t lie.
But I didn’t tell the whole story either 😙
