The View Thru the Sheers and Beyond

I booked this hotel thru August 31, hoping the heat and humidity ease up by then.

Being at the hotel lets me stay cool and come-n-go without having to do the dreaded campground shuffle. I love my time at campgrounds but the shuffle has always ruffled my feathers.

I’m about 20 minutes from Auntie M… an easy commute compared to the hour away I would’ve been at the extended stay hotel that didn’t work out.

The view outside my window…

The hotel is smack dab in the middle of all kinds of shopping, across the street from Culver’s and Pizza Hut, and down the road from my two favorite coffee shops, on one of the busiest streets in town.

Yet, when I look out thru the sheers, I feel like I’m living in the woods.

The trees that were cut down are still lying there waiting to be removed. But I ignore that little inconvenience and appreciate the view beyond the temporary debris.

Opening the curtains lets even more of nature come in.

To be fair, the woodsy view is only seen head-on.

A quick look to the right shows a row of manicured trees, mown grass and, beyond that, the street.

A glance to the left shows the other wing of the hotel along with the felled trees still waiting to be cleaned up.

If I wanted to get nit-picky… and sometimes I do… thru the trees, I can spy with my little eye the apartment complex next door.

Parting thoughts…

Maybe it’s not about finding the perfect view.

Or what kind of walls my current home has.

Maybe it’s simply about choosing what I give my attention to.
