Miss Calico Moves In
A couple days ago I posted about Miss Calico, a cat that appeared at the campground and kinda took over my campsite.
When sheās not roaming or hunting, sheās snoozing on my deck.
This morningā¦
It was time to dump my black and gray water tanks and refill my fresh water tank.
Heading outside, I noticed Miss Calico sleeping on the bench, again.

My tanks needed tending to but I didnāt want to disturb her.
I slowly opened the door, hoping she didnāt run away.
Miss Calico looked up at me with sleepy eyes. I said, āGood morningā and she replied with a soft, groggy āMeowā.
Stepping outsideā¦
Miss Calico casually hopped off the bench and walked towards me.
I reached down to scratch her on the head and give a quick belly rub.
Sheās no longer skittish. Looks like Iāve earned her trust!
Iām allergic to catsā¦
But I canāt resist petting any cute floof-ball that comes my way!
As long as I wash my hands before I touch my face or eyes, I usually do ok. Allergy medication helps some but it never totally prevents a reaction.
While I was outside this morningā¦
Miss Calico stalked her prey.
I watched her crouch down with her fluffy butt wiggling back and forth, ready to pounce on whatever critter she had her eye on. I couldnāt see anything but Miss Calico definitely had something on her radar.
Suddenly, she was out of sight.
I donāt know if she was successful or not - but it sure was entertaining to watch.
Looks like Iām sharing my campsite this seasonā¦
A short while later, she was taking a nap in the shade under the bench.

She canāt move into the van with me but sheās certainly moved into my campsite.
Now, if only sheād pay her share of the camping expenses š
