Miss Calico Moves In

A couple days ago I posted about Miss Calico, a cat that appeared at the campground and kinda took over my campsite.

When she’s not roaming or hunting, she’s snoozing on my deck.

This morning…

It was time to dump my black and gray water tanks and refill my fresh water tank.

Heading outside, I noticed Miss Calico sleeping on the bench, again.

My tanks needed tending to but I didn’t want to disturb her.

I slowly opened the door, hoping she didn’t run away.

Miss Calico looked up at me with sleepy eyes. I said, ā€œGood morningā€ and she replied with a soft, groggy ā€œMeowā€.

Stepping outside…

Miss Calico casually hopped off the bench and walked towards me.

I reached down to scratch her on the head and give a quick belly rub.

She’s no longer skittish. Looks like I’ve earned her trust!

I’m allergic to cats…

But I can’t resist petting any cute floof-ball that comes my way!

As long as I wash my hands before I touch my face or eyes, I usually do ok. Allergy medication helps some but it never totally prevents a reaction.

While I was outside this morning…

Miss Calico stalked her prey.

I watched her crouch down with her fluffy butt wiggling back and forth, ready to pounce on whatever critter she had her eye on. I couldn’t see anything but Miss Calico definitely had something on her radar.

Suddenly, she was out of sight.

I don’t know if she was successful or not - but it sure was entertaining to watch.

Looks like I’m sharing my campsite this season…

A short while later, she was taking a nap in the shade under the bench.

She can’t move into the van with me but she’s certainly moved into my campsite.

Now, if only she’d pay her share of the camping expenses šŸ™„
