A Little Coffee Lover Fun - Questionnaire Style

Earlier today, I read a post by Becky at Online Goddess and thought it would be fun to continue the coffee trail.

Becky got the idea from Syl's post so I used a combo of their questions...

Connie's Coffee Q & A

How many cups of coffee per day? Usually just 1 oversized mug a day. If I go to a local coffee shop I always get a "large".

When do you drink coffee? About an hour or so after I get my booty out of bed. I think my body needs to adjust to being awake before I can fuel up!

How do you take your coffee? It depends on my mood. I drink it black, with syrup, creamer, or whatever trips my trigger. I tend to go in phases. Right now, when making my own coffee at home, I'm in my homemade vanilla coffee syrup phase.

Do you like coffee flavored foods? I'm usually not one for flavored foods - especially if the flavor is fake. But I don't often pass up the chance for coffee flavored oatmilk or coconut milk ice cream. I'm allergic to cows milk, almonds, and cashews so those types of milk are not an option.

What kind of food do you like to have coffee with? Most of the time it's just coffee. But... if I can find a good brownie or muffin that I'm not allergic to I'll definitely savor it with my coffee.

Do you have a favorite coffee mug? I only have 1 mug. My last one broke a couple years ago so my daughter bought me a new one. She's been supplying my coffee mug ever since I moved into my van and hit the road - 10 1/2 years ago.

Why coffee? Why not?

Do you have a favorite flavor or roast? I do not like flavored coffee. I like coffee with flavored syrup but, when the coffee grounds are flavored, I just can't do it.

I prefer dark roast. My favorite at home brands are... Allegro Organic French Roast and Whole Foods Organic French Roast (whichever is cheaper at the time).

My Coffee Equipment

Coffee Equipment

I've used the pour over coffee cone with unbleached coffee filters since my early van life days. The gooseneck teakettle works well for pour over coffee - with less chance of me missing the cone and making a mess! I store my coffee in a canister - just because I wanted one.

My setup is simple and suits my nomadic lifestyle well. Even when staying in hotels, I prefer my coffee cone rather than fiddling with the in-room coffee machine.

Visiting Coffee Shops

My top 3 coffee orders: Coffee with vanilla syrup; Caramel Macchiato (Starbucks version); and Iced White Chocolate Mocha.

My top 3 coffee shops: When I'm in the Freeport Illinois area, I go to Higher Grounds. All I need to do it pull up to the drive thru, say my name, and they know my order 😅

When I'm traveling, I go to McDonalds (adding my own syrup or fixin's) or Starbucks.

I don't go to Starbucks often but I never pay for my coffee at Starbucks. I use their app (which earns rewards) and I use other reward apps like Fetch, Receipt Pal, etc, to earn rewards or cash back. My rewards and cash back goes to support my minimal Starbucks habit.

This was a fun post. If you enjoy a good cup of java, go ahead and share your own post - I dare ya!
