Letting the Real Me out Is Harder Than Expected
Why is it so hard to let the real me come out?
It’s easy to sit here and say it’s all because of the 15+ year relationship I had with an alcoholic, narcissistic, sociopath… but looking backwards isn’t going to help me move forward.
The truth is, that relationship (which ended long, long ago) may have played a part in shaping me. But the choice in how I live my life, who I become, and what I give my energy to is mine and mine alone.
There’s no blame and no shame - just responsibility for what’s mine to tend.
