Leaving Northwest Illinois - or Not

My plan was to leave northwest Illinois yesterday.

That plan didn't play out.

After an unexpected, crazy, busy week... and dealing with a worse than usual MCS1 reaction... I was exhausted. It was not in my best interest to hit the road in that state of being.

Today will be a rest and recoup day. It should be a quiet day because no one knows I’m still here.

It's been cold lately. This morning it's 39 degrees outside. Inside my chilly but cozy little home on wheels it’s a crisp 57 degrees.

The electric heater does well at taking the chill out of the air but my minimally insulated cargo van lets the heat escapes faster than I'd like.

I stay toasty warm in bed but getting out of bed can bite ya in the booty.

The good thing about this cool weather is the Asian beetles will stay hidden. The beetles usually flock in after the Farmers harvest the soy beans.

The field surrounding the campground hasn’t been picked yet. Fingers crossed they wait until after I leave tomorrow🤞

For now… it’s time to make more coffee and see what my last day in northwest Illinois brings!

Stay toasty,
Connie 🌾
