I Never Thought I’d Have to do This in South Florida

I’ve had the heat on for the past 2 days. I’m thankful for heat but this is south Florida for Pete’s sake!

This morning, I left the hotel shortly after 7am. I was heading down the street to pick up my daughter. She has the week off from work and today we were doing our annual Mom-n-Nikki day trip to Key West.

We mosey our way thru the Florida Keys, stopping here-n-there, and noticing what’s new since last year.

One place we like to stop is Sombrero Beach but it was too cold and windy. No worries, though. We always enjoy our time together and the conversation is always entertaining.

Before I could drive anywhere this morning, I had to do something I’ve never done in the 10 years I’ve been spending winters here… something I never thought I would have to do here in sunny, coastal, southeast Florida…

I had to scrape a thin sheet of ice off the windshield 😮❄️

Being a “northerner”, I have an ice scraper. But many Floridian’s aren’t prepared for this kind of weather - nor do they expect it.

Does anyone know Mother Nature’s number? I need to give her a call.
