Another Birthday Snuck Up On Me
How’d my birthday roll around so quickly?!?
It feels like my last birthday was just a couple days ago… not a whole 365 times around the sun!
Birthdays are probably a good thing, though. It means I’m still alive and kicking.
But as the years roll by, there are fewer people around to celebrate with.
Gone are the days of family birthday celebrations. Many have passed away and the few who remain are scattered around the globe or physically unable to join.
These days, modern technology fills in when people can’t be here in person. I always get creative birthday wishes via text, email, or phone call.
Other than that, I’m on my own to celebrate as I choose 🎉
The weather today looks like it'll be a nice, cool autumn day. My totally flexible, stress free, birthday-on-my-own plan for today might involve…
- A shower - so I don’t cause anyone to wrinkle their nose at me while I’m out and about 😁
- My free birthday coffee from Starbucks - most likely a Caramel Macchiato ☕️
- A peaceful little detour at one of the area city parks 🌳
- Lunch from Imperial Palace 🍛
- Possibly a slice of cake or a sweet treat from the bakery 🍰
Maybe I’ll go to a movie or rent one.
Maybe I’ll take a drive down a long forgotten backroad.
Maybe I’ll do none of the above and simply do what I do best… just wing it.
It’s my birthday, my day is wide open, and I’m just gonna roll with it.
