39 Degrees, 17 Days, No Plan - The Joy of Willy-Nilly Van Life
I wake up, roll over in bed, and pull the curtain back to see what I can see out the back window of my cozy little camper van.
As the thermal-backed curtain reveals the outside world… cool air hits my skin.
The weather app on my phone says it’s 39 degrees.
This extra crisp autumn morning reminds me it’s almost time to head south for winter. The campground here closes in 17 days and I still haven’t made plans for when I leave. The only plan I have is a campground reservation in south Florida from December 2 to April 2.
I suppose there’s no hurry. Life doesn’t always need a concrete plan - neither do travel plans. Sometimes the best adventures happen within the unplanned, willy-nilly, just winging it times where the real magic is found.
For now, I’m going to enjoy this cool, sunny, autumn day in northwest Illinois!
